Q. My family recently had to euthanize our dog, Brett, due to advanced heart failure. This was a very painful experience for us, and I have taken it particularly hard. I never knew I would feel this kind of grief, but Brett was my companion for many years before I got married and started a family. Many friends act as if this shouldn't be a big deal since it is just over a dog. Do you know of any support groups or therapists who deal with this kind of problem?
