Before entering the Echeconnee gates Friday and early Saturday morning, racers and fans were greeted with an all-too-familiar foe: deep, traction-robbing mud. Some of the worst mud in Echeconnee history to be exact. Trailers wedged into the ground wheel-high in some places, while drivers of cars and two-wheel drive trucks fretted about becoming the mud's next victim. It was a test, pass and make it through Echeconnee's pearly gates to ATV racing heaven, fail and be subjected to early-weekend humiliation.
