SAN JOSE, Calif. _ Bay Area motorists boldly vowed to make their normal commutes over the bridges spanning the bay Friday _ but some admitted the first terrorist threats directed at Northern California left them thinking twice about getting in their cars.
"I need to get to work," said Nicole Held, 32, who commutes daily across the Bay Bridge from Oakland to San Francisco and will do so again Friday. "If it's your time, it's your time. I don't want to live in a shell.
"But if I think about it too much, I'll probably scare myself."
