SANTA CLARA, Calif. _ Wide receiver Terrell Owens wasn't shy about criticizing 49ers coach Steve Mariucci on Wednesday, and 24 hours later, Owens' teammates and coaches didn't try hiding from those remarks.
"It's out there. Terrell said what he said," left guard Ray Brown said before Thursday's practice. "It's not like you can reel it in and stuff it back in his mouth."
Damage control was in full effect at 4949 Centennial Blvd., with players and coaches addressing Owens' public outburst and vowing not to let it sidetrack them from a promising season.
