HOUSTON _ As 44-year-old Bernhard Langer was taking a share of the lead, Tiger Woods looked like an old man during the first round of the Tour Championship on Thursday at Champions Golf Club.
He hit a drive on No. 2, then grabbed his back. He groaned after shots. He used his putter like a cane, steadying himself to pick up balls. He even adusted his swing by not playing left-to-right shots. And by the time he reached No. 17, he simply punched a 3-wood off the tee.
