JONACATEPEC, Mexico _ Day of the Dead will not be an easy one for Eulalia Campos de Olmedo.
On Friday, she will place food and water for the spirits of her deceased husband and her parents, but she will be unable to fully grieve for her son, Juan Ortega, who is listed as missing in the rubble of the World Trade Center.
"This has been a very difficult time for me," she said Thursday, fighting back tears. "My son has disappeared, and it's been very hard for me."
Across Mexico on Friday, millions of people will honor their deceased relatives. They will place bread and water, food and flowers, and mementos on makeshift altars in their homes. They'll go to cemeteries, clean the grave sites, and place fresh flowers on the plots. And they will eat, drink, and remember their loved ones.
