After nine seasons of professional football, there are days when he still finds himself walking into the New England Patriots' dressing room and immediately glancing over to his locker.
Just to see if everything still is in place. That everything still is there. Helmet. Shoulder pads. Nameplate. That he's still there. That he hasn't been traded or waived or whatever.
He used to do that when he was a rookie, when you didn't know "where you would be from day to day."
