DETROIT _ Sometimes, it seems as though a team could run the ball all day against Michigan and still not score. And the statistics bear this out.
U-M is giving up only 54.4 rushing yards a game, which leads the nation. So if an opponent used up all 54 of its yards on one drive _ assuming it started on its own 20 _ the opponent would get only to the Michigan 26.
Of course, the opponent would need an NCAA waiver on the four-downs rule. Michigan is giving up just 1.8 yards a carry, and 1.8 yards multiplied by four is . . . well, less than 10, anyway.
