DETROIT _ As returns go, they don't come much more triumphant than Chris Osgood's.
Osgood returns to Joe Louis Arena on Friday night for the first time since an unceremonious pre-season departure via the waiver draft, where he was left to dangle after the Red Wings were unable to maneuver a trade. Osgood, who turns 29 later this month, became expendable after the Wings acquired Dominik Hasek on June 30.
