Oct. 8--CAPITAL EXECS BUY DIAMOND CENTER: The Diamond Center, a Bay Area retail institution known for its cheesy ads featuring owner "Crazy Paul," has been taken over by a group of Sacramento executives who are planning a national expansion and considering eventually moving the headquarters here.

Running the company now are four former execs from the Money Store: William Templeton, Pat Mackin, William Feigles and Daryl Carlson.

The four got financial backing from Endeavor Capital of Portland, Ore., to buy the firm from Paul Copansky, the "Crazy Paul" of the TV ads, who owned the Diamond …
