Dr. Itzhak Levav, of the Mental Health Services Department of the Ministry of Health in Jerusalem, Israel reported in the American Journal of Public Health (Oct, 2000) that tragic events like the death of someone close could increase the risk of developing cancer, and in cancer victims, may affect the rate of survival.
