DARLINGTON, S.C. _ Jeff Burton's dominating performance in Saturday's South Carolina 200 at Darlington Raceway brought a smile to his face.
"It feels awfully good. We struggled this year in the Winston Cup program and our (Grand National) program and to come out and dominate like this means an awful lot," said Burton, who earned his first series victory since November at Phoenix.
After a late caution, which created a final four-lap dash, Burton beat Elton Sawyer by .201 seconds. "Our guys did a great job. I'm very proud of them. I'm not the easiest guy to work with, especially when things aren't going well," said Burton, who led 75 of 147 laps.
