PHILADELPHIA _ It's impossible to have a conversation with Shannon Sharpe and not know exactly how he feels about whatever you're talking about.
First, you're going to do a lot of listening, a whole lot of listening. And, it's not just bluster. It's the real deal filled with facts and introspection.
The Baltimore Ravens tight end disproves that proverb handed down by many an elementary school teacher, "An empty wagon makes the most noise."
Sharpe, in case you haven't got the point, could talk his way out of a sunken submarine.
So he was true to form when asked whether breaking Ozzie Newsome's league record for receptions by a tight end would be important to him.
"Sure it is," Sharpe said without hesitation. "That just shows I've been productive during my career."
Notice there was no fake humility and talk of how the record won't mean anything unless the team wins the Super Bowl this season.
