CHICAGO _ T.C. Taylor just loves putting on a show in Chicago.
The versatile Jackson State senior was named Offensive Most Valuable Player of the Chicago Football Classic as a quarterback last year. Saturday night Taylor earned MVP honors at wide receiver as the Tigers defeated Howard University, 27-17, at Soldier Field in the newly named Walter Payton Classic.
"It has been a pretty smooth transition," Taylor said. "I love playing in Soldier Field. Hopefully I can come back here some day. This is an NFL field. A lot of guys just dream about playing on NFL fields. I fulfilled the dream tonight.
The 6-foot-4-inch 224-pounder caught six passes for 120 yards and two touchdowns. The Jackson State wide receiver corps includes the more highly touted Lawrence Story, who caught three passes for 45 yards Saturday night.
Sophomore quarterback Robert Kent, who completed 16-of-34 passes and three touchdowns directed Jackson State's offense.
