ORLANDO _ Up front, I am extending my hand to followers of the Miami Dolphins and Green Bay Packers. Let us put our differences behind us. Life is too short for animosity over a silly game.

Allow me to take their first step toward a new relationship by providing this great news:

The Fish and the Cheese Whizzers will each win as many games as they lose this season.

Yes! The Fish will go 8-8 and so will the Whizzers. As lovely Anne Robinson might say: "You are the most mediocre links."

As you can see, you have my complete support.

OK, let's move on.

Thanks to the obsessive help of a reader who identifies himself only as "Slash," I have before me my preseason predictions from last year. Thanks a bunch, Slash. Just what I wanted is somebody holding on to these things.
