CHICAGO _ Talk about winning the hard way. The ongoing turnover in their starting rotation would seem to have made the Houston Astros vulnerable yet they have built a lead over the Cubs in the National League Central.
With Ron Villone the latest forced into the mix, the Astros have used 14 starting pitchers. That's only two less than they used from 1997 through 1999, when they won three consecutive division titles. In comparison to this season, those Houston teams were practically on auto-pilot.
