Ever hear of a team owner trying to perpetuate a quarterback controversy?

That's reportedly how desperate New Orleans Saints owner Tom Benson became in trying to boost ticket sales for a home exhibition game.

Aaron Brooks and Jeff Blake actually were told which player would be the regular-season starter before the team's first exhibition game against Minnesota. Benson, though, asked coach Jim Haslett not to reveal that Brooks was given the nod because he believed the allure of competition at quarterback would generate fan interest. The official announcement came Tuesday.
