Among its many pleasures, this reissued live Siegfried stands as one of the best ways to remember the late Rita Hunter. Her gleaming soprano rejoices in every challenge in Brunnhilde's scene, encompassing well-guided legato, continuity through all range and dynamic extremes, luxurious portamento at the right time, and all the classical graces.
