SAN JOSE, Calif. _ Even as he backs a plan to move his team to Santa Clara, Oakland A's owner Steve Schott has been in talks with a large entertainment company about selling the team, a source close to Schott told the San Jose Mercury News Tuesday night.
Schott ``did get an offer from them. I don't know if it was accepted,'' the source said of a proposal by Mandalay Sports Entertainment, a Southern California-based company that owns several minor-league baseball teams.
