DETROIT _ If you want to see the site of the next Internet boom, just look to our friends across the border, eh?
Canada is poised to become a Net sales powerhouse by 2005, analysts estimate, with $175 billion in U.S. dollars in business-to-business sales alone, propelled by automotive companies in Ontario and a push by the high-tech and petroleum industries. That's about a fifth of the country's total projected business-to-business trade.
The country's young adults already go online more than people in the United States and in several European countries. That suggests the next generation of elite digital workers could be just over the border.
In all, the country is poised for what Forrester Research in Cambridge, Mass., calls a period of hypergrowth in its business Internet usage. Adults there are already more likely to own a ...
