Q. There's all this talk about the Code Red worm, but I don't even know what a worm is. Is it like a computer virus?
A. A virus is a program designed to invade a single computer and to do something malevolent on that PC only. A worm is a more insidious form of programming.
Beyond wreaking havoc on one computer, a worm will also use the computer to make more copies of itself and then send those clones on to other PCs to cause problems there as well.
