CHICAGO _ Buoyed yet still cautiously optimistic following a positive visit by All-Star forward-center Antonio Davis, the Bulls' free-agent recruiting efforts turn to a solid role player Friday when guard Bruce Bowen visits.

Bowen, a five-year veteran, earned all-defensive second team honors last season while averaging 7.6 points in 82 games with Miami. The 6-foot-7-inch, 200-pounder also once was a Bull_for two days.

Included in the three-team Toni Kukoc deal for salary-cap purposes, Bowen was waived by the Bulls on Feb. 18, 2000, so that Philadelphia could re-sign him. But Bowen was claimed off waivers by Miami, where he played the last season-and-a-half …
