DALLAS _ By summer's end, Mavericks owner Mark Cuban might find himself bankrolling a fistful of contracts worth more than $200 million.
Cuban could approach that mammoth figure just by re-signing his marquee free agent, Michael Finley, and hammering out a long-term extension with Dirk Nowitzki.
No surprise, then, that there was no Cuban protest Sunday when this potentially expensive off-season got off to a fairly muted start. At 12:01 a.m., Cuban said, he was quietly watching TV instead of diving into negotiations at the possible first minute, knowing how much big business awaits.
