TORONTO _ Very quietly, Brian Daubach has begun putting together a hot streak at the plate. But he'd like to downplay it a bit right now.
"Everyone knows how I can have a good week, and be the worst player in the league the next week," said Daubach.
Certainly, Daubach is known for his ups and downs. But his bat is heating up, and his fielding has become extremely solid regardless of his fortunes at the plate.
Sunday, Daubach went 2-for-4 with 3 RBI, two of which came on a homer to left field in the fourth, snapping a scoreless duel between the Sox' Rolando Arrojo and the Jays' Chris Carpenter.
Daubach now has hit in six straight games, four of which have been multiple-hit games. He is batting .526 (10-for-19), with three doubles, a triple, two homers and eight RBI. He has seven RBI over his last three games, boosting his season total to 41. The homer was his 13th.
