KANSAS CITY, Mo. _ When Terry Cook ran out of fuel while leading a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race, his wife let him have it.
And not in the privacy of their home, mind you, but right there on national television.
Cook's wife, Amy East-Cook, serves as a pit reporter for ESPN's coverage of the NASCAR Craftsman Trucks series, and she often finds herself treading the fine line between supporting her husband and serving as a journalist.
Shortly after she filed an update with Cook's crew chief on the team's decision to coax a few more laps from the truck last month at Texas, the unthinkable occurred. Her husband's Ford truck sputtered to a stop midway through the race.
Then it happened again with 10 laps left, leaving Cook, who led for 34 laps, with a 13th-place finish.
