PHILADELPHIA _ On a day when Joe Sakic remained with the Colorado Avalanche, Eric Lindros' options dwindled even more as the St. Louis Blues and Dallas Stars each picked up prominent centers.
Edmonton's Doug Weight, one of the most versatile, two-way centers in the NHL, Sunday joined the Blues in exchange for center Marty Reasoner and left winger Jochen Hecht. St. Louis had shown interest in Lindros a few months ago.
Meanwhile, former Blues center Pierre Turgeon signed a five-year, $32.5 million contract with Dallas. The Stars had hoped to persuade Lindros to add them to the list of teams he would play for. Having failed to do that, they signed Turgeon.
