The Red Wings traded for Dominik Hasek. Let that sink in. Absorb all that it means and all that it does not.
It means the Wings are as strong in goal as any team in the league. No more Chris Osgood-bashing; he and his hefty salary are surely on their way out of town. It gives the Red Wings their biggest bolt of electricity since they acquired Brendan Shanahan nearly five years ago.
When he's at his best, and he usually is, Hasek is the best goalie in the game, which means he's the most valuable player in the world.
