CLEVELAND _ The "Kool" guy won.
Dario Franchitti, racing for Team Kool Green, played it very cool during Sunday's Marconi Grand Prix of Cleveland.
Franchitti knew Memo Gidley was on his tail late in the race, yet he wasn't sure if he'd have enough fuel to finish. There was no way Franchitti could make a pit stop at that point or he'd give up the lead for good.
It was do-or-die time.
The gutsy decision to go for it all was the right decision for Franchitti as he had just enough fuel to hold off Gidley and third-place finisher Bryan Herta, winning the race (and the IMG Cup) by a 0.305-second margin, the closest in race history.
