Maintaining the fun: without proper maintenance, water play features can break down or cause injuries, leaving operators high and dry. Here's how to keep yours in top shape.
When Carol Buckner called, she didn't know what to do. The water slide at her Brunswick, Ga., facility was in bad shape. Some of the runners had corroded away and the slide was pocked where the fiberglass had worn through. She'd tried to call service companies to fix the problem, but no one seemed able to help. With no other option, she'd had to shut down the slide, much to the chagrin of her 6,000 members.
Fortunately, we were able to refurbish the slide, but many other aquatics facilities throughout the country face similar problems with no easy solutions.
