COMPTON, Calif. -- Three former employees of the Compton Community College District have won the right to pursue claims against the district for sex discrimination and harassment, constructive discharge and retaliation.

A three-judge panel of the California Court of Appeal unanimously reinstated their case, which seeks lost salary, damages and other compensation stemming from their spring 2000 resignations or retirements.

The community college district denies any liability in the cases, countering that Margie Miles, Ernestine Hood and Manette Wesley voluntarily left their jobs rather than face disciplinary action for poor job performance.
