Verizon is offering eight additional Massachusetts communities its new FiOS Internet Service.

Verizon's FiOS service is a new fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) network, which the company is currently building in half of the states where it offers landline communications service. The new communities include Armonk, Bedford Village, Dobbs Ferry, Harrison, Katonah, Rye and Scarsdale in Westchester County, as well as the Rockland County communities of Nyack and Orangeburg.

The company will announce FiOS Internet service in other areas as it becomes available.
