Dec. 30--Jeremy Ford is a network administrator for CrossLink, a Boulder
tracking and telemetry company. David Schalamon and Eric Auld started their own firm, WebEEC Design.
Schalamon and Auld are only 17, and Ford just turned 19.
The three learned how to do their jobs by taking high school classes at the Computer Information Systems Program at Boulder Valley Technical Education Center.
While the CIS program has been in place at Boulder TEC since 1968, the school began offering a Microsoft Authorized Training Program about three years ago, and the Cisco Local Academy program started this fall. Boulder TEC at 6600 Arapahoe Road is the only high school in Colorado that offers both programs.
Students who complete the CIS program get a vocational certification and up to 49 community college credits. If they also complete the Microsoft program and pass the Windows NT Microsoft Certification and A+ Certification exams, they are…
