Nov. 10--GROUP TO STUDY GAS LINE: The Anchorage civic group Commonwealth North said Thursday it is forming a study group to analyze the impacts of proposed multibillion-dollar projects to move North Slope natural gas to markets. The group said state leaders should favor a project that makes the gas available for consumption by Alaskans, creates jobs for Alaskans during and after construction, and generates state revenue. Gov. Tony Knowles in August set the same criteria. Projects that maximize state revenue at the expense of jobs and gas supplies for Alaskans are shortsighted, said Nancy Usera, the group's president.
