BRADENTON, Fla.--Dec. 21--When Elizabeth Smith saw the Tickle Me Elmo in stores in October, she bought one because she thought it would make a great toy for her then 5-month-old son, Forrest Burch.
Now that the fuzzy, giggling red doll is in high demand, Smith is hocking her Elmo to the highest bidder to get some extra Christmas shopping cash.
"When I saw it at Target, there were a whole bunch of them on the shelf," Smith said.
But once the doll made its talk show debut on the Rosie O'Donnell Show in October, toy sellers across the country couldn't keep them on their shelves.
