Sep. 12--No matter whether you're a member of the milk-and-cookies crowd or the beer-and-pizza bunch, the prices of your favorite beverages have gone up and will likely go up again soon.
Wholesale milk prices went up about 13 cents a gallon in August, with a projected 16 cent increase scheduled for October. Many retailers in the Northern San Joaquin Valley absorbed part of the August increase, but still raised prices of milk on the shelf.
The cost of a six-pack of beer, made by such manufacturers as Anheuser-Busch, Miller Brewing Co. and Coors Brewing Co., bubbled up 13 cents (about 3 percent) earlier this year with a similar increase planned for sometime this …
