The book's fluorescent yellow background screams for attention as Molly, Wally and their dog, Data, invite you inside the cover of "A B C & D" with their cartoon smiles and waves. It looks and feels like a Dr. Suess book with vivid, crayon-box colors and simple cartoon characters. It reads as if straight out of a Dick and Jane primer.
And that's precisely what Adaptec wants.
"I wanted to create an annual report that clearly expresses the technology of our products in such a way that anybody could understand them," said Dee Cravens, vice-president of corporate communications for Adaptec, a Milpitas computer peripherals company "and to do it in a way that would leave a smile on people's faces."
