Jul. 3--Automated loan machines developed in Columbia may appear in shopping malls and offices as NationsBank tests technology developed by Affinity Technology Group.
The deal is a milestone for Columbia-based Affinity. Since it was formed in 1994, the company has sold ALMs to five banks. But Charlotte-based NationsBank is the biggest Affinity customer yet.
Jeff Norris, Affinity's president and CEO, said the deal was a "major endorsement for Affinity's technology."
Neither company would say how much the deal is worth. But NationsBank will test about 20 machines initially, a spokesman for Affinity said. Each machine usually is leased for $10,000 to $11,000. …
