SAN JOSE, Calif. _ The FBI is recruiting emigres through ads in Vietnamese-language newspapers to report on spies working for their former homeland.
The ad has run in newspapers in Orange County and Houston, Texas, and Thoi Bao in San Jose plans to run the ad soon.
Reaction to the ads reflected the political splits within the Vietnamese-American community. One group has sent a letter to the FBI protesting the ads, while another is encouraging its members to sign up.
