WALNUT CREEK, Calif. _ Justin Raimondo sees no conflict in his position: He's one of Pat Buchanan's top campaign volunteers in San Francisco, and he's openly gay.

And yes, Buchanan knows. And Raimondo, who handles media, organizes rallies and recruits volunteers for Buchanan's campaign, doesn't care if Buchanan endorses his lifestyle.

On NBC's ``Meet the Press'' Feb. 12, Buchanan says he doubted that he would appoint an ``out-of-the-closet homosexual who declared that he believed that homosexuality was a legitmate lifestyle and was engaged in that lifestyle'' to a high appointive position in his White House.
