Heavyweight boxer Tommy Morrison was suspended indefinitely from fighting Saturday, in all likelihood for testing positive for the virus that causes AIDS.

Morrison's handlers and the Nevada State Commission, which administered the test Thursday then informed Morrison of the results Saturday _ six hours before he was to meet Arthur Weathers in a 10-round fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas _ did everything but confirm the positive test.

The Los Angeles Times and the Associated Press reported Morrison did test positive for HIV.

Most other states, including Florida, do not test boxers for HIV or AIDS.
