BOULDER, Colo. _ Ski season is also knee-injury season. And don't think that skiers on the most challenging runs are the only ones subject to potential ligament tears. Most accidents occur on intermediate runs, and even beginners can injure themselves.
``This is not an injury that discriminates against good skiers,'' says Dr. Lorri Fulkerson, an orthopedic surgeon at Boulder Medical Center. ``I've been skiing for a long time _ I'm a black diamond gal. I've been real lucky.''
