That's it. Nothing else you've heard or thought you knew about him is important now. For the next 10 weeks or 10 months or how ever long this takes, almost everything you hear will be about answering this question: Just who is O.J. Simpson?
Or, at least, who was he on the night of June 12 when Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman were savagely slaughtered by a killer or killers who slashed and hacked them to death outside her Brentwood condo while O.J.'s two small, suddenly motherless children were upstairs. We can only hope they were asleep.
Forget the smiling pitchman hurdling benches in airports. Forget the gridiron hero who ran farther and faster with a football than almost anyone before or since.
