Mar. 19--LA VERNE, Calif.--The City Council rejected a request to allow Denny's restaurant to open a second driveway off Base Line Road serving its recently opened Foothill Boulevard diner by a 3-2 vote Monday night. In making their decision, council members rejected advice from city planners and traffic engineers, while supporting residents opposing the driveway.

The vote leaves the restaurant with only one entrance off Foothill Boulevard.
