Apr. 2--ALAMOSA, Colo.--The Alamosa County Nursing Service is retrenching, its administrator told county commissioners on Wednesday.

Julie Geiser said her office would discontinue its prenatal care program because most expectant mothers are covered by other programs. The Alamosa County program also will stop doing postpartum care for other San Luis Valley counties.

She also will discontinue providing a school nurse to the Sangre de Cristo Schools, suggesting that the schools hire their own registered nurse.
