There's nothing like a good war _ or two _ to kick-start a romance, and in "Head in the Clouds," Charlize Theron, Stuart Townsend and Penelope Cruz get conflagrations galore.

First off, there's the Spanish Civil War, a cause that brought hordes of handsome idealists to Spain to fight fascists and fall in love. Then, World War II, with decadent Parisians suffering under stern, strutting Nazis, forcing friends and lovers to endure rations, run for cover, and choose up sides.
