So what month do European-Americans get to celebrate their heritage? And why doesn't anyone call them that instead of the rather bland "white people."
Honest questions that are often asked _ OK, sometimes hurled _ this time of year.
So let's take a break from the public genuflection to all things Latino this Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15 to Oct. 15) to attempt an answer.
One reader wrote: "In fact there should be no Hispanic, nor Asian, nor African-American Heritage month nationally as there is no reason to pretend to celebrate things most of us do not care about. ...We cannot be forced to like each other."
