Let's consider health care for a moment.

I know, there's only one issue that matters in this presidential contest, the war in Iraq. But just in case some voters are willing to look at a domestic issue offering a crystal clear difference between President George W. Bush and Sen. John Kerry, I recommend the crisis in health care.

The problem is the rising cost of health premiums and treatment for people who are covered through their jobs, which is most of us, and for small businesses wishing to cover their employees but can't afford to.

I bet you thought I was going to say the real crisis is the 45 million Americans who don't have any health coverage and argue for universal care. Well, not this liberal. Americans may prefer shock and awe in foreign policy, but they'd rather go slow on the home front, and ...
