TORONTO _ It's a good thing the Tigers signed right-hander Ugueth Urbina.
Right-hander Fernando Rodney, due to be the closer, is out indefinitely because of a sprain in his pitching elbow the club announced Tuesday.
Rodney might pitch soon, president and general manager Dave Dombrowski said. But Dombrowski said that if Rodney isn't pain-free in about a month to six weeks, he might need surgery.
"It's apparent he's had this injury for a long time," Dombrowski said.
The technical name for the injury is a "grade three ulnar collateral ligament sprain." Grade three is the most severe grade of such a sprain, ...
