-- The latest in a bumper crop of benefits for Chicago bungalow owners is a grant to help make the classic single-family residences more energy-efficient.

A $3.5 million grant from the Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation to the Historic Chicago Bungalow Association can help homeowners improve their windows, doors and insulation and install energy-efficient appliances. No income restrictions apply, but the homes must be certified as eligible -- that is, real bungalows …
