Two talented directors apparently are just marking time. Trouble is, they're wasting ours.
Martha Coolidge's "The Prince & Me" is a paper-thin offering from the director of "Rambling Rose." Phil Kaufman's recent release, the turgid "Twisted," is barely recognizable as coming from the same hands as "The Unbearable Lightness of Being."
If these represent the best offers Coolidge and Kaufman have had lately, it's a frightening signal of Hollywood's priorities.
